When animals are left to starve, they're not pets they're pretty much prisoners. In civilized countries that's called "abuse." Neglectful owners can be fined and jailed. This isn't art, it's a representation of yet another country that I don't ever need to visit. Thanks for the heads up, I never wanted to see India anyways.
It's funny because I was just about to post how these animals look healthy compared to a lot of pictures I've seen from India. The cow especially is in excellent flesh and has just been given a bath. As for the dog, I think it's mostly her body shape that makes her look thin. Regarding her expression--termed "miserable" by some here-- I challenge any dog owner to look at their pets when they're just lying around and see if their expressions aren't comparable. I am looking at my well-loved if slightly overweight lab right now and she presents a convincing argument for being the saddest animal in existence, despite having just had dinner and an invigorating romp. So basically, everyone needs to chill.
You're right, that dog's ribs are actually swollen because his fat belly is pushing them outward. He's clearly overfed, and a fine representation of India's healthy animal population. Thanks for pointing that out! I feel smarter already.
sorry, i NEED to ask... you help the dog, i mean, give some food or anything? it so painful , look at that bones...She should be starving! anyway, yeah, it someway a great photo, with all the elements and everything
Interestingly, when I saw the thumbnail of this, I said to myself the chant of, "Nam myoho renge kyo." Done due to the image of the green shirted man, whom was the only human I could make out on my mobile device(phone w/browser) that I only use for internet functionality, and the animals. Didn't assume that he would be Indian. Turned the awkward moment into something that could fully connect with the area.
are people really complaining about a possibly photoshopped dog? Look at the matter at hand here, the fact that we have so much poverty around the world is atrocious! there must be something we can do besides just sit and watch, no? get up off your lazy bums and go help some one, make a change people.
I don't know about you but the dog made it look spot on in my opinion. Like I said, dogs are often starved and treated inhumanely in some parts of India, whereas cows are treated well. Perhaps you should do some research on the culture first?
